The LiFePO4 batteries represent the next generation of power storage. Although they resemble lead acid batteries externally, they are fundamentally different, utilizing 18650 LiFePO4 cells commonly used in portable devices. An integrated Battery Management System (BMS) ensures uniform charging and discharging, offering protection against short circuits, overcurrent, and reverse polarity. This system provides superior safety compared to traditional lead acid batteries, which are prone to rapid discharge and potential fire hazards. The BMS also regulates discharge and cut-off voltage to safeguard the internal cells.
This 5Ah model delivers continuous current up to 4.5A, with peak currents reaching 9A, making it ideal for portable power applications and as a replacement for similar capacity lead acid/AGM batteries. It is frequently used in alarm systems and other critical systems requiring backup power.
